About Us:

Route 7 Review, established in 2013 and published annually by Utah Tech University, is an online literary arts journal that has been in circulation for more than a decade. The journal welcomes submissions of poetry, fiction, creative nonfiction, visual art, and book reviews from writers and artists residing anywhere in the world.

​We are a diverse group of Utah Tech University students and their advisor, Dr. Cindy King. Our combined experiences and drive for creative works of all kinds make us the perfect team to compile this online literary arts journal and give back to our Saint George community.

Route 7 Review will always dedicate itself to fill the literary market with distinctive, diverse, and vibrant voices.

Chasta Martin

Managing Editor

Chasta is currently a senior at Utah Tech majoring in English with an emphasis in Creative Writing. After graduation, she plans to attend graduate school and expand on her love for learning. Outside of English, she enjoys learning about different cultures and what makes people unique. When she’s not spending time with her husband, she can be found writing, playing musical instruments, or coming up with new hobbies.

Jaxon Tueller

Visual Art Editor & Poetry Co-editor

Jaxon is a senior English major with an emphasis in Professional and Technical Writing and a minor in Political Science. He enjoys all forms of reading and writing but especially loves poetry. Jaxon has previously worked on Utah Tech’s 2024 issue of The Southern Quill. He is excited to be working on the 2025 edition of Route 7 Review this year.

Lydia Steffan

Poetry Co-editor

Lydia is a senior working toward her bachelor’s degree in English with a Creative Writing emphasis. She has expanded her knowledge of writing technique and style through her years at Utah Tech to utilize after graduation to create her own works. When she is not writing or researching for her personal projects, she enjoys traveling, exploring nature, and spending time with her hilarious husband.

Myles Hart

Webmaster & Social Media Co-editor

Myles is a senior at Utah Tech studying English and has aspirations to be a lawyer or editor! He loves writing, basketball, and family. Fiction is his favorite genre but enjoys nonfiction for its ability to voice history. He spends most of his time with his wife and loves her Ecuadorian culture.

Whitney Arnold

Whitney is currently studying Creative Writing and Public Relations at Utah Tech.She enjoys reading and writing fiction while occasionally dipping her toes into poetry. She plans to go into the field of publishing after graduation, hoping to take her learned skills into her career.

Natali is a junior at Utah Tech majoring in English with an emphasis in Creative Writing. She is passionate about all things art and creative writing-related. After graduation, she hopes to find a career in the PR field that will utilize her writing skills. 

Kambrie Williams

Book Review Editor

Kambrie is a junior at Utah Tech working towards a degree in English with an emphasis in Literary Studies as well as a minor in Creative Writing. After graduating, she plans to work toward a master’s degree in library science. Outside of English, she loves to read, play games, and spend time with her family.

Madi Boyack

Fiction Co-editor

Madi is an English major with an emphasis in Creative Writing. She enjoys all forms of storytelling, often spending her time reading, writing, or watching movies and TV shows. Upon graduation, she has hopes of finding a career in screenwriting.

Ryan Schultz

Creative Nonfiction, Webmaster, & Social Media Co-editor

Ryan is living in St. George, Utah, with his wife and is a junior at Utah Tech studying Technical and Professional Writing. He has been published on iFixit and works on documenting and recording various freelance projects. When he isn't working, doing homework, or writing, he spends his free time reading, listening to music, or being with his wife and two cats.
