Art & Poetry Editor | Ashlyn Smith | From a young age, Ashlyn Smith has always had a deep love for the arts and literature. Previously, she has had her own visual art and poetry accepted into The Brown Lady academic journal, as well as in The Southern Quill literary arts publication. In addition to these submissions, she has had experience as the Visual Arts Editor for The Southern Quill. As she works towards her undergraduate degree in Professional and Technical Writing, she greatly looks forward to being apart of this year’s issue of the Route 7. |
Faculty Editor | Dr. Olga Pilkington | Dr. Olga A. Pilkington is proud to direct Route 7 Review. An Assistant Professor of English and an Assistant Director of Undergraduate Research, Dr. Pilkington mentors students who research linguistics and literature. All mentees present their findings at regional or national conferences. Some have published their work while still studying at DSU. |
Fiction / Art & Poetry Editor | Sydney Brooks | Sydney is a junior at Dixie State University pursuing her Bachelor’s Degree in Professional and Technical Writing, with the goal of becoming a book editor. She is proud to bring to the Route 7 Review team her enthusiasm to read, her experience in designing and running social media pages, as well as editing short animated stories. She enjoys reading, music, running, eating snow cones, and giving all the dogs belly rubs. |
Fiction Editor | Blaine Chambers | Blaine is a junior at Dixie State University and will graduate in the spring of 2023. His major is English with an emphasis in technical and professional writing and is planning on attending law school afterwards. When Blaine is not in class, he is either helping to edit Route 7 Review, playing on the school’s soccer team, or preparing to take the LSAT. He loves to eat good food, camp, hike, fish, and anything that puts him in the outdoors. |
Non-Fiction Editor | Adam Stallings | Adam Stallings is third year English Major at Dixie State university, studying professional and technical writing. His interest include American non-fiction writing as well as documentary film, he has had his own writings featured in online journals and documentaries entered into small film festivals. During his free time, Adam enjoys watching movies and cooking. Adam hopes to pursue a career in multimodal communication after graduation. |
Non-Fiction Editor | Israel Ramirez | Israel is double majoring in English and Criminal Justice. With a foot in two different majors at Dixie State University, he hopes to bring a different perspective into the English department. Israel will be graduating in May of 2021 and hopes to continue on to graduate school. Israel considers himself to be an activist of equality for people of color and enjoys learning about different cultures. |
